Evaluation Q/3
What
kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The company, Vertigo Films is what our media product is
distributed by. We chose this production company as they have a number of
different types of films, some of which involve family films like, Horrid Henry
The Movie, dance films such as, Street Dance, both of which was produced in 3D,
independent Horror films like, The Children, Monsters and Wake Wood.
Considering our media product presents a quite unusual theme and they work
around a great number of films from different themes, they provide a confident
line up for ourselves. Moreover, as it is a British Production Company, it is
much easier to undertake and relate to the budgets, as America’s horror films
are fairly overrated. Given that Vertigo works along a number of themes, their
thrillers conclude to an outstanding finish. One thing that attracted us the
most was the fact that they have worked around different styles to entertain
the audience, one of which is 3D.
Evaluation Q/6
This was produced as a PowerPoint presentation, however, i found difficulties converting it to a video, therefore, i print screened each slide, click on them in order to view it larger.

Evaluation Q/4
WHO WOULD BE THE
AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
Our media product is
made to attract young adults. These of who are from the ages of 16 years old
and above. During the making of he
video, we produced a target audience profile, of a male who was interested in
the themes and films of the genre of our media product. This gave us a brief idea
of the type of people that will appeal to a film like ours, that is, an unusual
thriller of a psychopath.

First Viewing Of Video
27th Feb 2012
In today's lesson, we viewed everybody's video. The first viewing of the video was done so that everyone can put their input and advice for what should be done, in order to help each other make improvements for higher grades.
My video still needs a lot of editing as it is missing a few small things. There were a few problems with sound in the video, as there were a few sounds louder than others, therefore, we need to re-record them, editing it all to one level. A few shots of the dream sequence are still missing the colour effects needed, which is the change in brightness and contrast. Also, titles are not yet added and we have planned for the titles to be edited in the beginning of the sequence, where the writing and blurred dreamy sequence is, this is so we can avoid having to add font into the shots later on, which include dialogue, as it will be too far into the video.
However, on a much brighter side, everything else seemed to trigger the audience's attention very successfully, it was said by a pupil, "it has potential to be good, it just needs to be finished." Finally, as most of the shots were not rendered, by the time it got the point we had to watch everyone else's video's, we didn't have time to watch over our one, therefore it as more of a shock to us that it actually came out as well as we thought it would be. It was, too, our first time watching it and i really enjoyed what i'd seen so far.

As it is a dream sequence of a nightmare, i edited the effects and changed the contrast, brightness and color of the shots to a darker looking atmosphere. This is to make it easier for the audience to understand it is not just a dream, it is a weird dream sequence of a psycho. As there were a number of shots from the dream sequence, i added the particular effects needed as a favorite, this was to make it easier for myself to add in quickly to each shot, of just the dream sequence.

In today's lesson, i have edited the therapy session to my opening sequence. Successfully, i completed most of it. whilst doing so, there were a few problems with the difference in location of both acts, the therapist and protagonist. The locations of both, the therapist and the protagonist did not match due to the different days in recording. Thereby, i used the effect, fade in and out in between all shots to connect them properly. There was another problem, this was also due to the filming of different days. However, i edited the brightness of the location of which the therapist was in to match the location in which the protagonist was in. I done this by using effects again, i changed the color balance and made the filters to a much dimmer color, a much whiter and bluer shade.

These files, too, had to be converted to a PDF from a word document. As for the same process i done with the Screenplay, after converting to a PDF, i converted it to a JPEG. Click on the images to view it larger and clear.

Pitch For Vertigo Films
PITCH
Our first choice is to pitch to Vertigo Films. Originally we wanted
to pitch to Hammer Film
Productions, but realized they only worked within gothic horror and the film we
are producing is a modern horror. Vertigo Films, have a number of different types of films, some of which
involve family films like, Horrid Henry The Movie, dance films such as, Street Dance, both of which
was produced in 3D, Horror films and crime related films too. “A Night In The Woods,
Guinea Pigs, The Children” and “Monsters” were a few of the horror films they
produced. Considering they have
a great number of films from different themes and our sequence is quite
unusual, they present a confident line up for ourselves. Also, as it is a
British Production Company, it is much easier to undertake and relate to the
budgets, as America’s horror films are fairly overrated. Given that Vertigo
works along a number of themes, their thrillers conclude to an outstanding
finish.

The Logo & ident Of Our Production
Our first idea was the logo shown above. We could not think of anything at the time and as both of our names begin with the letter M, we thought it would be a good idea to enclose it creatively with the word 'amazing' but creating it to a point where it is not spelt out correctly, but unusually, as show above. However, as we begun with this idea, it helped us think into depth about what could have a more technical and media reference as well as just our initials. Alternatively, we came up different logo, which we both decided to wok amongst and finalize to.
This was our final idea. We agreed to this as it refers to the modern use of technology, like, e-mail, e-switch. It has the combination of 'amazing' and technology, at the same time, looks mild and attractive.
We decided this animated image, alongside the movements matched within it, as it is simple, yet interesting. Again, combined with it, is a technical reference.

The MindMap Of Original Ideas
I used the software, Free Mind to create a Mind Map to plan very vaguely the main parts to the two minute sequence. It consists of descriptions of the protagonist, therapist, the main conversation and as it is very clearly shown above, the settings and how it and everyone will look. This was my first time using this software, slightly complicated is what i thought of it as i begun to use it, during this period i became familiar with it and got the hang of it. The purpose for this Mind Map was to connote the few things we have planned to include in this sequence.

9 Shot Mood Board Of The Opening Sequence
10th january 2012 - In today's lesson i created a mood board which consisted of nine images to connote the meanings of the films, considering the themes and the little things that will appear in the two minute sequence. To avoid giving away the main images in the sequence, i only took one picture of one of the images that will show. Otherwise, i researched through google images to find images that are near enough to the theme and story line of the sequence. I left one gap on the right to add the title image of the film which has not yet been decided. Soon to come. A 9 shot mood board is what it is called.
